Coach Darren Davies praised Swansea City Under-18s' intensity and bravery after they recovered from a second-half setback to beat Ipswich Town 5-3 at Landore.

Iwan Morgan netted his 22st and 23nd goals of the season respectively after converting from the spot and drilling home from close-range with half-hour played.

But the visitors pulled one back just moments later as Trialist B swept down the left to find the net to halve the deficit, and the trialist would go on to complete his hat-trick after the break with two goals in 10 minutes.

However, the Swans responded with three goals in the final 25 minutes to claim the points, with Morgan getting the first of them to complete his hat-trick to level the scores.

“I thought we brought intensity and bravery to the game today, out of possession and in possession. There were some threatening moments, and we were good on the transition," said Davies.

“We played some very good football whilst in possession in the first half. We dominated, created chances and I thought our first-half performance was extremely good.

“With all respect to the opposition, the game should have been ours at half-time. We allowed them back into it.

“At half-time we spoke about them coming out and pressing higher, which they did and managed to get a goal, and the momentum swung to them.

“There’s many learning moments within that, and how we manage that. They had a man sent off, and then I think we really settled back into it again.

“We controlled the game superbly from then on, we worked the ball from the back, we worked lines and we got into the front third.

“To sum up, there were plenty of learning moments within the 90 minutes, there were some ebbs and flows of momentum, but ultimately we have to put that down as a good performance."
