Davies: Points vital to us

6th May

The Swans head to Wigan on Tuesday night with Ben Davies insisting the points on offer are just as important to Michael Laudrup's side as they are to the third-bottom Latics.
Roberto Martinez's side pulled off a fantastic 3-2 win at West Brom last weekend to boost their hopes of once again beating the drop.
Wigan are just two points off Sunderland and three off Newcastle and Norwich, meaning victory on Tuesday would move them up to 16th.
But Davies underlined the Swans' hunger to end a winless streak of seven matches as Laudrup's men look to strengthen their bid for a top-ten finish.
"Wigan had a great result against West Brom, so they will be in good spirits facing us," said Davies.
"They are fighting for their lives, but we've got to go up there and spoil their party.
"It's not nice saying it like that, but we need points too because we want to finish as high as possible.
"Tuesday's game is an opportunity to get three points and create a little gap between ourselves and the teams below us.
"So we need to get points just as much as they do."
