ON THIS DAY: Trundle proves the difference

8th December

Swans 1-0 Plymouth
Championship: Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Lee Trundle proved the super sub as he came off the bench to earn the Swans victory over struggling Plymouth at the Liberty.
Trundle, on loan from Bristol City, was introduced at the start of the second half following a goalless opening 45 minutes in which the Pilgrims' defence stood firm.
And he made an immediate impression as he got onto the end of fellow sub Gorka Pintado's cross and fired home after 52 minutes.
It proved the difference in a tight contest, which also saw Plymouth defender Shane Lowry dismissed in added on time, with victory pushing Paulo Sousa's side up to fifth in the table and extending their home record to nine unbeaten.
The game saw Angel Rangel make his 100th appearance for the club, while it was also Besian Idrizaj's first start for the Swans.
The season would end with the Swans just missing out on a play-off spot in the Championship by one point.
