Halifax Town 0-1 Swansea City
Division Three: Saturday, February 23, 2002

Steve Watkin struck the only goal to move the Swans further away from the Division Three relegation zone courtesy of victory at Halifax.

The striker scored his eighth goal of the campaign after heading home Damien Lacey's corner just ten minutes into the game.

At the other end, Roger Freestone was in inspired form for the Swans as he kept put a number of efforts to pick up a clean sheet.

His finest save denied Craig Middleton late on, while Marc Richards did manage to find a way past him but not the Swans defence as they cleared off the line.

The Swans would eventually finished 15 points clear of Halifax, who suffered relegation after finishing bottom.
