Dwight: We deserved a draw

31st March 2013

Dwight Tiendalli felt the Swans deserved a share of the points after suffering a narrow defeat against Spurs on Saturday.
The visitors started brightly and raced into a two-goal lead through strikes from Jan Vertonghen and Gareth Bale - his 22nd of the campaign.
However, the Swans produced a spirited response and could have pulled one back when Nathan Dyer's header came back off the crossbar.
Michu headed in with fifteen minutes to play but the home side couldn't find an equaliser to leave them with a third defeat in a row.
"We are a little bit disappointed," said Tiendalli. "I thought we deserved at least a draw.
"The first 20 minutes wasn't so good, but we fought for each other throughout and I thought we should have got something in the end.
"Nathan was very unlucky when he hit the crossbar, but our mentality was very good.
"We created a couple of good chances through crosses into the box, but it just didn't fall for us."
Tiendalli returned to the starting line-up following a calf injury to Angel Rangel, and turned in a positive performance on the right hand side.
And the Dutchman was delighted to be back out on the pitch, despite seeing his team-mates go down to a defeat.
"I'm just doing my job. I know what I can do and I try to perform well for the team.
"There are still plenty of games left this season and I want to try and play as much as possible."
The Swans now head for Carrow Road next weekend to take on Norwich City.
The Canaries are still looking over their shoulder in the bottom half of the table, and Tiendalli believes the Swans can go there and get a positive result.
"Every game is tough in this league," he said. "Norwich away is a tough game but we trust each other than we can go there and get some points.
"We have a team that is mentally strong. We know we can win, especially at home, and we showed that fight in the second half against Spurs.
"We have been unlucky in the last three games and deserved more points. But that's football, and you don't always get what you deserve."
