Dwight: We deserved a point

22nd December

Dwight Tiendalli believes the Swans were unlucky not to take a share of the spoils as they went down to a 2-1 defeat to Everton at the Liberty.
After a cagey first half, the visitors took a deserved lead as Seamus Coleman saw his 25-yard shot fly into the top corner.
However, the home side responded well and levelled with twenty minutes to play when Bryan Oviedo deflected a Tiendalli effort into his own net.
But Everton secured all three points - and a place in the top four of the Premier League - when Ross Barkley curled home a delightful free kick late on.
And despite the defeat, Tiendalli admitted he thought the Swans deserved to earn a point.

"Every game we play at home we want to take three points," said the Dutchman. "But I think a draw would have been fair and we were a bit unlucky today.
"I think we played a lot better in the second half and had a couple of good chances.
"It was a hard game. We knew they were a physical side, but also one that likes to play as well.
"I thought we worked hard together to make a game of it, and a point would have been fair.
"They (Everton) have been on a good run this season, they have a lot of good players and we knew it would be a difficult game."
Tiendalli looked to have scored his first goal of the season when he turned home a Ben Davies cross into the net to draw the Swans level.
But replays showed his effort take a wicked deflection off of Oviedo on its way past the stranded Tim Howard.
"I was just happy that we scored," he said. "It didn't matter if it was the defender or myself that got it.
"It was a great ball into the box and I managed to get round the back, but I think it was the defender who flicked it in."
The result leaves Michael Laudrup's side 11th in the Barclays Premier League table, with 20 points from 17 games played.
The Swans now face a tough trip to Chelsea on Boxing Day before facing Aston Villa two days later.
"We know that we have a tough schedule," he said. "We play Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as Aston Villa.
"But I think we have to take some points from those games."
