Dyer: Three finals ahead

Nathan Dyer has described Swansea City’s final three games as 'cup finals' as the fight for Premier League survival goes to the wire.

The Swans remain in 17th place on 33 points – just one above the relegation zone – following the 1-0 defeat by Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men will be aiming to move clear of danger when they travel to Bournemouth next weekend.

Despite the defeat, Dyer believes the Swans need to reproduce the determination they showed against Chelsea in their remaining games in order to preserve their top-flight status.

“We made a slow start but we got fully going in the second half,” the winger said. “We had chances to come back and score a goal or two, so we feel hard done by.

“But it was a great effort by the boys and, if we show that in our remaining games, we’ll be all right.

“Our last three games are cup finals. We know we’ve got to go out there and pick up points. We’re focused on getting back there and giving 100 per cent.”
