Fulton signs new contract

30th June

Swansea City midfielder Jay Fulton has signed a new four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.
The 20-year-old arrived from Scottish side Falkirk in January and after impressing in the club's Under-21 squad, the youngster made his Premier League debut against Aston Villa back in April.
Fulton was then handed his first start on the final day of the season as the Swans secured a 3-1 victory at Sunderland.
"I'm absolutely delighted," he said. "I think I've done better than expected since I came down here in January, and I can't wait to get started for pre-season.
"Everything has happened pretty quickly but I didn't need any persuading to sign and I'm really looking forward to the future.
"I just want to get a good pre-season under my belt now and see where it takes me.
"It's nice to have had a break but I just want to get back out on the pitch again and pick up where I left off."
The Swans squad are set to return to pre-season training on Wednesday following the summer break before heading off to the US for a two-week tour.
Garry Monk's side kick off their fourth season in the Premier League with a trip to Manchester United on August 16 and Fulton is focussing on trying to impress the coaching staff even further ahead of the new campaign.
"I came down as part of the Under-21 squad and to be on the bench for the Aston Villa game was great but to then get on the pitch and play first-team football was something I've dreamed of," he said.
"But that was last season and I want to started fresh and keep impressing people."
He added: "Garry (Monk) has been brilliant. He's put a lot of confidence in me and made me feel part of the squad and hopefully I can continue to progress under him."
