George Byers | Squad quality gives us belief

George Byers says the quality in Swansea City’s squad gives them the belief they can get results, no matter the situation.

The Swans extended their unbeaten run to three games as they snatched a point in dramatic circumstances against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday.

That followed up from a last-gasp winner at Wigan, while late goals also provide crucial in wins at QPR and Leeds back in August.

Midfielder Byers was disappointed the Swans did not claim all three points in South Yorkshire, having led for most of the afternoon.

But he views the belief of Steve Cooper’s squad as a key factor in their ability to pull results out of the bag.

“We had mixed emotions after the game. We dominated the game and should have come away with three points really,” said Byers.

“After going 1-0 up, we were very comfortable and dominated most of the game.

“We could have dropped our heads after conceding twice, but we knew there was still time for us to play and potentially get something.

“This season, I think we’ve shown great resilience throughout the team. With the quality within the team, we always know we can create a chance – no matter how long is left in the game.

“Luckily, we managed to get the goal at the end for the equaliser.”
