George Byers Swansea City Newcastle

16th January

Midfielder George Byers is looking forward to tonight's top-of-the-table clash as Premier League 2 leaders Swansea City Under-23s host Newcastle United at Landore (7pm).
The young Swans are ten points clear at the top of the division 2 table with the Magpies second in the league following a six-game unbeaten run.
Byers missed the 1-0 victory over Blackburn earlier this month through suspension, but returned to provide the assist for Oli McBurnie's winner against Wolves' academy in the Checkatrade Trophy last week.
And the 20-year-old, who now has eight assists and five goals to his name, is hungry to help the young Swans achieve more this season.
"Tonight's game is another chance for us to impress and maintain our position at the top of the league," he said.

"We earned a good result last week but need to back that up with a good performance tonight.
"I was disappointed to miss our last league game against Blackburn, but I am back and raring to go. I was delighted to get the assist for the winner against Wolves last week and I aim to be involved in as many games as I can from this point.
"Newcastle are a good team, they have proved that with recent results. It will be a good test for us, hopefully we can come out with the right result.
"We are just focusing on ourselves and not worrying about any other teams. If our focus is right tonight I am confident we can get another result."
