Gorré targets cup success
Kenji Gorré is targeting cup success ahead of Swansea City Under-21s' third-round Premier League Cup tie against Watford on Tuesday (Nov 26, 3pm).
Kristian O'Leary's development side host The Hornets at Stebonheath Park, hoping to make it through to the last 16 of the tournament after knocking out Millwall on their way to the round of 32.
And Gorré, who scored from the spot in Swansea's 4-2 penalty shootout triumph over Millwall, is hoping to extend their Premier League Cup run.
"Our target is to get as high as possible in the league and to progress as far as we can in the cup," enthused the 19-year-old winger.
"The likes of big teams like Manchester United and Arsenal enter the competition in the next round, and I think it would be great to play against those teams.
"Playing against those sort of sides would show us just how far we have progressed."
The Swans go into the fixture full of confidence, having extended their unbeaten run to five games after they drew 2-2 with Ipswich Town a fortnight ago, and Gorré believes he and his teammates will keep on improving.
"We are doing well at the moment," said Gorré. "I think we are working better as a team now.
"We are starting to know each other's jobs and what is expected from each of us.
"In our last match, against Ipswich, in the first-half we hammered them. If we had taken our chances, we would have killed them off.
"That's an area we need to improve on, and we are working hard to try and do that.
"From a personal perspective, I'm happy with how I've done so far. I think I need to score a few more goals, but I feel I am doing alright and progressing well."
