Guidolin wants Swans to play "without fear"

24th January

Swansea City's new head coach, Francesco Guidolin, has told his squad to play "with confidence and without fear" at Everton this afternoon (1.30pm).
Guidolin will take to the dug-out at Goodison Park for the first time since arriving from Italy to head up the club's campaign to retain Barclays Premier League status.
And having watched from the stand as the Swans picked up three precious points against Watford on Monday night, Guidolin is looking forward to taking charge of his first game.

"I hope to see my players play with confidence and without fear,'' declared Guidolin.
"I have had a great response from all the players in training this week. Their attitude has been excellent and I can already see their enthusiasm to work hard every time they put their feet on the pitch.
"There is a real strong mentality that this is the way they want to work, which has been very encouraging for me.
"I have had a very warm welcome from everyone here at the club and the supporters at the stadium when I watched the game against Watford on Monday.
"I thought we played very well in the first half and while it wasn't as good in the second, it was very important to win.
"I saw a team that was solid, focussed and with good quality on the pitch. It's a good starting point because I want my players to show serenity, concentration and confidence on the pitch. They need to understand the possibility to win games so that we can have a good last part of the season.
"It will be difficult on Sunday because Everton are a good side. But my side is good as well and there will be no better way to begin my career in the UK than with an away win.''
