Gylfi Sigurdsson hail Swansea City's fantastic tour support

19th July

Gylfi Sigurdsson hailed the travelling Swans support for their "fantastic" backing during the successful tour of Germany.
The Swans fly home today after they concluded a week-long tour with victory over 1860 Munich on Saturday night.
At the Grunwalder Stadium, goals from Jack Cork and Bafe Gomis sealed victory for Garry Monk's side, who had drawn 1-1 with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach earlier in the week.
Renditions of Hymns and Arias and The Swansea City song were passionately belted out by those who made the trip to Munich, and Sigurdsson was thankful for the support they received in both games.

"The supporters have been fantastic on this tour," said the Icelandic midfielder. "It was arranged at short notice, but they still came out here to get behind us.
"We could hear them singing away and that was brilliant for us. It just shows they will do whatever they can to travel and support this club."
Sigurdsson also praised Gomis after he struck the winner against 1860 Munich. The French striker took his goal well, receiving a pass from Jay Fulton then twisting and turning in the box before firing past the keeper from around 12 yards.
And the 25-year-old was also encouraged by Eder's performances on the tour, with the summer signing from Braga making his first appearances for the club.
"We need the strikers to be scoring goals. It's very important in the Premier League to have a striker that's scoring goals week in, week out," he added.
"Bafe took his goal very well. It's the type of quality we expect of him.  Bafe is an important player and everyone in the squad knows he can score a lot of goals this season, and hopefully he can do just that.
"Eder has also gelled in nicely. He's a tall lad that's strong and is sharp too. Hopefully he'll get a couple of goals in the next few games and I'm sure he'll do well for us this season."
The Swans now take on Championship sides Reading and Nottingham Forest on Friday and Saturday.
