'I am back - I am confident'

Wilfried Bony has declared himself fit and ready to fire ahead of Swansea City’s key home clash with Bournemouth this weekend.

Paul Clement’s men are hungry to chalk up a first ever Premier League win over the Cherries after a painful run of four successive top-flight defeats.

And Bony is desperate to play a part having returned from injury in last weekend’s loss at Burnley.

The frontman had not featured since September as a result of two separate hamstring injuries.

But he looked in good shape after coming on for the second half at Turf Moor, giving the Swans added presence in attack.

Now Bony is hoping for another opportunity to impress when Clement’s side host Bournemouth on Saturday.

“I am feeling fit and the good thing for me is that I am back,” the Ivory Coast star said.

“I can do better than I did against Burnley. I had two chances which I should have scored from – especially the header in the last few minutes.

“But I am feeling positive. It has been a frustrating time for me since I came back to Swansea, but I think there are good times ahead.

“I can improve and so can the team. I am confident both things will happen.”

The Swans have won only one home game so far this season, against Huddersfield Town last month.

They have taken more points on the road than they have at the Liberty so far in 2017-18, but that will change if they can find a way past Bournemouth.

“Now we are focusing on Saturday,” Bony added.

“It’s an opportunity for us all to come together, work hard and do what we need to get the outcome we all want.”
