Jonjo Shelvey for England

2nd October

Jonjo Shelvey has today become the first Swansea City player to be called up for England's senior national squad.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who has one senior international cap to his name, has been in fine form for the Swans this season, scoring one goal in six league appearances for Garry Monk's side.
England boss Roy Hodgson recently watched Shelvey in action during a visit to the Liberty to see the Swans take on Southampton.
And the national team manager has rewarded the Englishman by including him in his squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers with San Marino at Wembley on Thursday, October 9, and in Estonia on Sunday, October 12.
"Jonjo has constantly been in our thoughts and discussions when selecting our squads," said Hodgson. "The way we are looking to play will suit him.
"He has had an excellent start to the season with Swansea. He has been playing extremely well and is in on merit.''
