Jordi: We must move on

26th September

Jordi Amat insists the Swans must forget about Wednesday's defeat against Birmingham and look ahead to the next challenge.

Michael Laudrup's side were dumped out of the Capital One Cup following a 3-1 loss at St Andrew's.

The visitors had the better of a goalless first half, but should have led after Wilfried Bony and Roland Lamah spurned good chances.

And they were made to pay as Birmingham registered three second-half strikes to ensure that there will be a new name on the trophy this season.

But instead of dwelling on the defeat, Amat believes it is now time to look ahead to Saturday's clash against Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium.

"It wasn't good," said the defender, who was one of ten changes made by Michael Laudrup. "We had some chances to get that first goal, but unfortunately we couldn't take one of them.

"If we had then I think it would have been different. The team is still in a good place right now, despite the defeat, but it isn't always possible to win if you don't take your chances.

"We have a big game to look forward to on Saturday against Arsenal and we can learn from this defeat.

"We are at home, against a big team, and we want to do well. Not only for ourselves, but for the supporters as well."
