Josh Tymon | The way we finished the game was an encouraging sign

Josh Tymon believes the manner in which Swansea City finished their draw with Watford should serve as encouragement for the season to come.

The Swans secured a point against the Hornets, with Zan Vipotnik’s header from an Ethan Galbraith cross earned them a share of the spoils seven minutes from time.

The home side had trailed to a brilliant first-half free-kick from Nestory Irankunda, but they made all the running during the final 30 minutes and more.

Watford struggled to cope, but the Swans could not quite find a dramatic winner during nine minutes of stoppage time.

But, once the frustration wears off, Tymon is sure there is plenty for Alan Sheehan’s side to take forward.

“The first reaction is frustration and disappointment but, when you take stock, we showed the mentality that the head coach wants and has spoken about since he took over,” said the full-back.

“He wants us to go right to the end in games and I think in that final half hour we ran right over the top of them.

“The boys that came on impacted the game, which is a great sight.

“So we are disappointed because we wanted to come away with all three points, but we will take the point.

“We know we are a fit team and we know we are capable of going to the final whistle.

“We have a real hunger in the dressing room, we are desperate to do well for the club.”
