Ki captains South Korea to victory

1st September

Swansea City's Ki Sung-Yueng captained South Korea to a 3-2 home win over China in their 2018 World Cup qualifier today.
The midfielder played for the full 90 minutes as his country made a perfect start to the third round of their Asia qualifying section in Seoul.
South Korea had led 3-0 thanks to a Zheng Zhi own goal and strikes from Lee Chung-Yong and Koo Ja-Cheol. China struck back with two goals in three minutes but the hosts held on for victory.
Ki will now be part of the South Korea side that faces a trip to Syria on Tuesday, with the 27-year-old then flying back for the Swans' Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Liberty five days later.
