Korey Smith insists Swansea City will be primed for one last big push when the Championship campaign restarts this week.

Steve Cooper’s side sit third in the table with nine games remaining, with the Swans six points behind second-placed Watford with a game in hand.

After a hectic schedule which saw the Swans play 10 games in a 31-day period prior to the break, Cooper’s side had an opportunity to rest and recharge during the international break.

And Smith, who has featured 32 times this season, says the squad will be ready to go when the Swans head to Birmingham City on Easter Friday.

“The break gave us a good opportunity to rest and recharge, because there were a lot of games played before that,” said the 30-year-old.

“We're still in a good position. If someone at the beginning of the season said that we'd be third going into the last nine games, we'd probably have taken that. We've just got to look forward; we've got to be positive and see where it takes us.

“We're still in a good position in the league; we've got it all to play for, there are still nine games to go, we've just got to look forward.

“We’re all looking forward to tackling the next nine games – they’re all going to be massive, and we’ll give everything we have to reach our goal.”
