Laudrup keen to get off the mark

31st August

Michael Laudrup has underlined the importance of putting Premier League points on the board when the Swans head to West Brom on Sunday (1.30pm).
The Great Dane saw his side move into the Group Stages of the Europa League on Thursday night, but the Swans are yet to get off the mark in the Barclays Premier League following defeats to defending champions Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
And with West Brom up next this weekend, Laudrup is keen for his side to open in their account in the top flight before the league takes a break due to the international fixtures.

"It's a very important game for us after losing the first two games, which you can accept when you see who we played and where," said Laudrup.
"We want to get some points on the board. We know there are many games coming up and we'll get a lot of points in the Premier League this season, but in the beginning you want to get points as early as possible.
"But, on top of that, we have the international break so it's important for us to get something out of the game on Sunday.
"It will be a tough game for both sides. They played on Tuesday, and we played on Thursday with a long travel, but we can't use that as an excuse because it's part of playing in Europe.
"It's something we must get used to because we have six more games and three of those are away."
The Swans will again be without Neil Taylor while Nathan Dyer is a doubt having missed the last few games.
