Laudrup praises "mature" performance

Michael Laudrup praised his side for their "mature" performance after a goalless draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The Swans had the better of the first half, with Michu twice going close to opening the scoring.
The home side picked up slightly in the second period, but it was the visitors who again had the best chances to take all three points as Nathan Dyer shot wide and Danny Graham saw his effort blocked by Titus Bramble.
The result extends Swansea's run to just one defeat in their last 11 games in all competitions, and Laudrup praised his players for the way they responded to the achievement of reaching the Capital One Cup final last week.
"First half we dominated completely, but didn't score," he said. "The second half was a little more even but there was only a period of 15 minutes where they had more of the ball than us.
"We maybe should have won the game, but the reaction of my players was great.
"We played away, against a good side, and it is a pleasure to see at the moment and we defended well.
"Of course I'd have liked the three points, but our reaction was most important.
"This team is a very mature one, and that is something we can take forward into the future."
The main talking point before the game was the inclusion of Danny Graham in the Swans squad, with the striker being linked with a move to Sunderland.
Graham came off the bench late on amidst a frosty reception from the home fans, and Laudrup was unmoved on whether he will still be a Swansea player after the transfer window closes on Thursday night.
"It was my decision not to start him," he said. "But he came on and was unlucky not to score.
"But what happens with Danny in the next couple of days, I don't know."
The result moves Swansea up one place to 8th in the Barclays Premier League table.
And after another solid display on their travels, the Swans boss was delighted with his side's application as they now look ahead to Saturday's game against West Ham.
"Until we have 40 points, I don't want to talk about targets," he said. "It's important for us to get there and then look at the next target.
"We will have games where we are more lucky with our chances, but our performance tonight was what I expect and I'm very pleased."
Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill was left to reflect on a disappointing night for his side, as they failed to register a single shot on target.
"We were very disappointing," he said. "I thought we'd be refreshed after a weekend off, but Swansea dictated a lot of the game.
"We were laboured, and we expect to do better as the home side and take the game to them.
"Other than a period at the start of the second half, we didn't do that at all."
