Laudrup: We need to be more clinical

Michael Laudrup insists the Swans need to be more ruthless in front of goal following Thursday's defeat against Petrolul Ploiesti.

Despite the 2-1 scoreline in Romania, Laudrup's men booked their place in the group stages of the Europa League following a 6-3 aggregate win.

After an uneventful first half, the home side took the lead with fifteen minutes to go through Priso, but the visitors hit back immediately through substitute Roland Lamah.

However, Hamza grabbed the winner to sink Swansea, who saw Leon Britton sent off for two bookable offences.

But Laudrup believes his side need to be more clinical in front of goal after squandering a number of good chances in Romania.

"We had some huge chances," he said. "But if you don't score, then you won't win. We suffered a bit in the last twenty minutes and they got the first goal, then we had the red card late on.

"But we wasted a lot of energy because we didn't score when we had the chance to.

"We have to be much sharper when we have possibilities, but having said that I thought Rory did really well for us.

"However, to reach the group stages is a fantastic achievement for us. But we should have done better during the game and that's something we'll work on."
