League Cup Final: Bradford v Swans

The Swans will be aiming to lift their first piece of major silverware on Sunday when they face Bradford in the League Cup final at Wembley (4pm).

Michael Laudrup's side have produced a memorable run in this season's competition, beating the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea on their way to the final.

It will be Swansea's first major final in the club's 100-year history, and in their Centenary year, a trophy would be the fairytale ending.

Standing in their way is Bradford City, 68 places below them in the Football League.

The Bantams, whose last cup final appearance came way back in 1911 when they won the FA Cup, have produced some unrivalled heroics this season.

Phil Parkinson's side have knocked out Arsenal, Wigan and Aston Villa en route to Wembley, creating some magical moments along the way.

They enjoyed penalty shoot-out successes over the Gunners and Wigan before going on to beat Villa over two legs in the semi-finals.

Chico Flores is the only absentee for the Swans, as the defender misses out with an ankle injury picked up against QPR a fortnight ago.

Bradford are sweating on the fitness of defender Rory McArdle, who returned to training this week after an ankle knock.

Swans boss Michael Laudrup: "I know the importance of this game for both the fans and for the city. Since the semi-final we have had three away games and one at home.

"We did well in those games, but I wanted to put the final to one side and focus on the league. But now we are very close to Wembley and everyone is really looking forward to it.

"But I'll be very proud to lead the team out. It is going to be a great day for everyone involved with the club, and let's hope that it ends as well as it started."

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson: "All along the league has been our priority. I can't hide from that. But we are in the final at Wembley and have a chance of getting into Europe.

"So I can honestly say now, if we had the choice of two things, it would have to be winning the cup.

"We are a League Two team. We have created history by getting this far. It would be truly amazing if we could pull it off."

The Swans are unbeaten in their last four league encounters with the Bantams, all of which came in League One. However, three of those matches were drawn.

Bradford's last win against Swansea was a 5-1 victory at Valley Parade in the third tier in March 1996.

Michael Laudrup's side have not scored a goal away from the Liberty Stadium since a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in the Capital One Cup semi-final back in early January

The Welsh side have scored a goal inside the final 10 minutes of five of their six Capital One Cup games this season; the exception being a 0-0 second-leg draw at home to Chelsea in the semi-final

Bradford City have become only the second team from the fourth tier to reach the League Cup final; the other was Rochdale, who lost 3-0 to Norwich City in 1962

This will be Bradford's first appearance in a major domestic final since 1911, when they beat Newcastle United 1-0 in a replay to lift their only FA Cup

Bradford have only won two of their last 11 games in all competitions, drawing two and losing seven
