Leon Britton proud with Swansea City's season

11th May

Leon Britton believes Swansea City can reflect on a demanding season with pride.
The Swans signed off the season on a winning note after beating Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light.
It was a victory that took the Swans onto 42 points to seal a 12th-placed finish.
And with the curtain now drawn on the season, Britton feels the campaign has been a successful one considering the added demands of the Europa League.
"I think when you look at the season and see that we've reached the last 32 of the Europa League and finished 12th in the Premier League - that's got to be seen as a good campaign for us," said the midfielder.
"The Europa League was a completely new experience for this club - not just the players - and while it was an amazing experience I think it took a lot out of us.
"We did very well in the competition and I think we have learned a lot from the experience of playing in different countries and against teams with different approaches.
"I think we can learn a lot from a few sticky patches that we've gone through this season, while we also changed our manager too so that was another thing to deal with.
"So, with that on top of the league demands, I think we can all be proud of finishing 12th because it has been a very competitive season in the Premier League."
