Leon: Win was most important

3rd October

Leon Britton insists it was substance over style as the Swans made it two wins out of two in the group stages of the Europa League.
Michael Laudrup's side produced a gritty performance to record a 1-0 victory over St Gallen to return to the top of Group A.
The Swans survived a scare in the first half as Goran Karanovic missed a penalty after Dwight Tiendalli was penalised for handball, while Marco Mathys wasted a glorious chance after being one on one with Gerhard Tremmel.
But the home side got the vital goal just six minutes into the second half as Wayne Routledge tapped in at the far post after Wilfried Bony's shot was saved.
The result means the Swans maintain their perfect start in Group A, and Leon Britton admitted it was all about the result.

"It was a tough game," said the midfielder. "We probably weren't at our best, and it wasn't a great performance, but two wins out of two is very pleasing.
"Everyone spoke about the Valencia game and how we performed that night, but this was a bit different. The football wasn't quite flowing, but we showed good character throughout the game as the challenges started flying in.
"We wanted to follow up the Valencia win with a good result and we couldn't have asked for a better start.
"Two wins, two clean sheets and we have given ourselves a great chance of qualifying from the group."
After a goalless first half, the Swans made an immediate impact after the break as Wayne Routledge scored the all-important goal.
Despite riding their luck on a couple of occasions, the hosts showed a different side to their game to maintain their 100 per cent start to Group A.
And after admitting that it was hardly a classic, Britton praised his team-mates for their endeavour as they returned to top spot.
"We came out the blocks pretty quickly in the second half," he said. "We wanted that, particularly after the slow start we had in the first half and it was important that we got the goal.
"From then on it was pretty edgy and we played out the game, but it was hardly a classic. We dug in, hung on in there and got the right result in the end."
