Leon's pride at leading Swans

28th August

Leon Britton has revealed his pride of leading Swansea City in their Europa League Play-Off second leg against Petrolul Ploiesti on Thursday night (8.30pm local time; 6.30pm GMT).
With skipper Ashley Williams not part of the travelling party, Britton will captain the team as they look to book a place in the Group Stages of the competition.
The midfielder captained the Swans on two occasions last season - both against Arsenal - but he admits it will be an extra special honour to skipper the side in Europe.
"It's something I am very proud of," said Britton in this afternoon's press conference at Petrolul's Ilie Oana Stadium.
"I've been here a long time so it means a lot to me.
"But I won't have to say a lot to the boys. We know we have to be very professional if we want to be in the Group Stages of the Europa League.
"We are not there yet, so the performance has to be right tomorrow (Thursday) night.
"The competition for places in this squad is very intense, and everyone is determined to take their chance when they get it.
"A lot of us had not played in Europe before, and it's a great experience. We know we would get another six games if we reached the Group Stages, but first we need to complete the job here tomorrow."

S4C will broadcast live coverage of the second leg in Ploiesti.
The game kicks off at 8.30pm local time (6.30pm GMT), with coverage starting on S4C from 6.10pm (GMT).
