Liam Walsh believes he is capable of quickly settling into life at Swansea City and has spoken of his excitement at a new chapter in his career.

The 23-year-old has joined the Swans on a free transfer after leaving Bristol City, and spoke of the impression discussions with Steve Cooper, Korey Smith and Connor Roberts made on him as he weighed up a decision over his future.

The talented playmaker has put pen to paper on a three-year deal in SA1, and trained with his new team-mates for the first time at Pennyhill Park last week.

And he is optimistic about making an impact at his new club, believing Swansea is a perfect fit for him.

“It’s exciting for me, of course,” he said.

“This is a club that has been in the play-offs the last two seasons, and have been in the hunt for promotion. I want to be a part of that.

“I feel like the way Swansea play is a perfect fit for me, and I have worked hard over the last year and over the summer to get myself in the best position to make an impact and play games.

“It’s clearly an excellent squad given how high up the Championship Swansea have finished in each of the last two seasons and I feel it’s a group I can hopefully fit into quickly.

“It’s a new chapter for me, a new opportunity, and one I am determined to take.”
