Paul Clement hailed the Swans’ open session at the Liberty a big success as his side continued their preparations for the start of the Premier League.

The players were put through their paces in front of the Jack Army in a special session which also saw the new black third kit revealed for the first time.

And Clement declared the session a worthy exercise which his players gained a lot from.

“It was a really good session,” said Clement.

“We had a nice turn out from the fans and great to get back to the stadium and have a training session here before our first home game.

“We are almost ready. We are not quite there yet but we have more strong training sessions planned as well as the game against Sampdoria on Saturday and then I think we will be ready.”

He added: “I feel pre-season has gone really well with the team. The trip to America was good from a football and social point of view. I feel our team has more cohesion and time to get to know each other

“It has allowed me time to get across more ideas which I didn’t have time to do last season. We are not fully there yet, but we have a little bit more time to work hard and make sure we are ready.

“The new players have gelled well with their team mates and are popular within the group. They are working hard and they are learning a different way of playing.”
