Liberty Stadium set for SwansAid charity match

28th May

The Liberty Stadium is all set for this summer's big event when celebrity stars go head-to-head in a charity match to help raise funds for SwansAid on Sunday (3pm, June 1).

A host of famous faces from TV, film, music and sport will line up in aid of the Swansea City Community Trust fund, in an event hosted by Sellebrity Soccer and Swansea City, in partnership with The Wave and South Wales Evening Post.

Big name stars such as actor Danny Dyer, X Factor winner Shayne Ward and boxer Nathan Cleverly will grace the Liberty pitch alongside Swans legend Lee Trundle and Swans Chairman Huw Jenkins, who will make a special appearance at the game, playing in goal for 20 minutes on the day.

The event hosted by Swans matchday MC Kev Johns MBE is due to get underway at 1.30pm, with plenty of pre-match entertainment to whet the appetite for fans ahead of a 3pm kick-off.

From 1.45pm, John Adams will perform live music inside the stadium while ten-time Guinness World Record holding football freestyler Ash 'A-R' Randall will be showing off his flicks and tricks with the ball, accompanied by street basketball legend Tom 'Conman' Connors, who will also look to impress with his basketball skills.

Supporters can fly the club's colours by getting their faces painted, while there will also be fairground rides situated in the West car park - opposite the club shop - for fans seeking a thrill ahead of the day's main event.

Prior to the big kick-off, supporters will have the chance to get up close and personal with the participating celebrities before X Factor finalists Rough Copy take centre stage to perform in front of the Swansea faithful.

For those supporters yet to purchase their ticket for this weekend's must-see event, there is still time to do so.

Tickets can be booked online, via contacting 0844 815 6665 or in-person at the Ticket Office.

The Ticket Office will be open from 10am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday, 10am to 4pm on Saturday, and 10am until half-time on Sunday.

Tickets purchased online from Friday onwards will be available for collection from the Ticket Office only.
