Llewellyn praises youngsters after Ipswich draw

24th April

Chris Llewellyn was delighted with his young Under-21 side as they ended the season with a goalless draw against Ipswich.
Having already booked a place in the play-offs after victory over Cardiff City, the Swans made a number of changes to the starting line-up on Thursday.
Six of the club's Under-18 squad all started, while Liam Cullen was introduced from the substitutes bench in the second half.
And Llewellyn was pleased with the way the younger players stepped up in what has been a positive season for the club's Academy.
"Overall it was a very pleasing performance," he said. "I thought we played well throughout the game and were the better side.
"Having said that we didn't create too many chances, and the ones we did create we snatched at.
"We made a lot of changes but the players that came in deserved to be with the group and were there on merit. Some of them have been unlucky this year because the Under-21 group has been quite strong, but they have been patient and they took their chance.
The Swans now face a play-off clash against Nottingham Forest in a fortnight's time, with the winner reaching the final against either Huddersfield or Crystal Palace.
"Our focus now switches to the play-off game and we'll make sure we're ready for that," said Llewellyn. "It was our target all season and we were determined not to see our season end against Ipswich."
