Marvin Emnes scored in his first start for Blackburn Rovers to lift them off the foot of the Championship.
The Dutch forward put the hosts 2-1 ahead in the first half, with Owen Coyle's side going on to record their first league win thanks to a 4-2 scoreline.
It was Emnes' second goal in three appearances for Rovers, with the 28-year-old also scoring in the midweek defeat at Leeds.
Kyle Bartley, who scored the winner in that victory over Blackburn last Tuesday, helped Leeds to a 2-0 win at Cardiff City.
The defender made his ninth appearance for Leeds, for whom former Swans midfielder Pablo Hernandez struck late on to seal victory.
Fellow Swan Matt Grimes was not included in the matchday squad by manager Garry Monk, who saw his side rise to 15th in the Championship.
