It proved a successful weekend for Liam Shephard and Josh Sheehan as they helped Yeovil to a 2-1 win over Oldham in League One.
The bottom club moved to within three points of safety as James Hayter completed the Glovers' comeback by firing in the winner in added-on time.
Both Shephard and Sheehan featured for the full 90 minutes, while Stephen Kingsley remains sidelined with a head injury sustained in the midweek defeat to Walsall.
On Tuesday night it's a top versus bottom clash as leaders Bristol City visit Huish Park.
Crewe are now seven points clear of the dropzone as Alan Tate played in their 2-0 home win over Scunthorpe.
The centre-back returned from a one-match ban to help Crewe to their 12th victory of the campaign.
It means Crewe have kept eight cleansheets in Tate's 18 appearances for the club since arriving at the club on loan in September.
Next up for Crewe is a trip to Preston on Saturday.
Rory Donnelly set up a goal as Tranmere slipped back into the League Two relegation zone following a 3-2 home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.
The striker provided the assist for Danny Gardner to level before the break, with Donnelly also going close to putting Tranmere ahead soon after.
But the visitors went on to claim victory, meaning Micky Adams' side slipped down to 23rd in the table.
Tranmere visit promotion-chasing Northampton Town on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Jazz Richards didn't feature as Fulham were thumped 5-1 by Bournemouth in the Championship, while Ryan Hedges missed Leyton Orient's 1-0 defeat at Peterborough in League One.
