It proved a successful weekend for Bafe Gomis, who scored his fifth goal in seven appearances as Marseille beat Nantes 2-1 in Ligue 1.
The French striker struck the winner from the penalty spot as Marseille picked up their second victory of the campaign.
In the Championship, Marvin Emnes was also on the scoresheet as he helped Blackburn pick up a shock 2-1 win at Derby.
Despite falling behind, Blackburn were level a minute later as Emnes scored his third goal in five games for Owen Coyle's side while former Swan Danny Graham netted the winner shortly after.
Kyle Bartley and Matt Grimes both featured as Leeds secured a third consecutive victory.
Bartley played the full 90 minutes while Grimes was introduced late on as a substitute as Garry Monk's side beat Ipswich 1-0 to climb to 12th in the table.



In League Two, both Liam Shephard and Ryan Hedges played their part as Yeovil recorded a 4-2 home win over Cheltenham.
The pair both played the full 90 minutes as Darren Way's side rose to 19th thanks to the victory.
Josh Vickers was between the sticks as ten-man Barnet suffered a 5-1 loss at Portsmouth.
The young keeper saved a penalty as the Bees endured an afternoon to forget on the South Coast.
Josh Sheehan made his debut as Newport slipped into the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat by bottom club Cambridge.
The midfielder came off the bench in the 79th minute as the Exiles were beaten by a late goal.
Meanwhile, Adam King and Kenji Gorre - who started in the midweek EFL Cup defeat by Manchester United - were both unused subs as Southend were beaten 4-0 by Northampton.
Connor Roberts wasn't included in Bristol Rovers' matchday squad while Franck Tabanou's Granada are in action tonight against Alaves in La Liga.
