Nathan Dyer came on for the final 20 minutes to secure a 3-2 win for Leicester City as they visited Everton.
The winger replaced Marc Albrighton in the 70th minute as Foxes continued their superb run to sit top of the Barclays Premier League on Christmas Day.
Connor Roberts and Josh Sheehan helped Yeovil Town move off the bottom of League Two following a 1-1 with Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium.
Roberts made his 22 appearance of the campaign for the Glovers while Sheehan clocked up his 13th game of the season as Yeovil moved up one spot to 23rd.
Oliver McBurnie made his second start for Newport County in League Two as they were pegged back by AFC Wimbledon.

However, the 20-year-old's strike midway through the first half was cancelled out by two second-half goals from play-off rivals Raith Rovers.
The 2-1 loss saw Morton miss out on a chance to leapfrog Raith and remain fifth in the league.
In the Dutch Eredivisie, Kenji Gorre featured off the bench late on as Den Haag thrashed mid-table rivals Heerenveen 4-0.
