Alan Tate featured for the full 90 minutes as he helped Crewe lift themselves out of the League One relegation zone.
The defender, who has returned to the club for a second loan spell, was named in Steve Davis' starting XI as Crewe beat managerless Gillingham 3-1.
The victory moved Crewe up to 19th - a point ahead of the fourth-bottom Gills - and they will be looking to make it five unbeaten when they visit Notts County on Saturday.
Rory Donnelly made his Tranmere debut by coming off the bench in a 0-0 draw at Morecambe.
The 22-year-old striker was introduced just past the half-hour mark following an injury to Marc Holness.
Micky Adams' side, currently second bottom in League Two, are a point off safety although they have a game in hand.
Next up for Tranmere is a home fixture with Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
