Raheem Hanley insists the hard work must continue after he was was part of the first-team squad for Saturday's win over Stoke.
Hanley was named on a youthful looking bench, with the defender joining the likes of Matt Grimes and Modou Barrow amongst the substitutes.
The 21-year-old, who arrived at the Liberty on a free transfer from Blackburn in January, has impressed for the club's Under-21 side this season as they reached the play-offs.
And he was delighted to be part of the first-team squad for the first time.
"It's something that I've been working towards ever since I signed for the club," said Hanley.
"To get the opportunity to see what it is like on match day is an honour. It's completely different watching the game from the bench compared to being sat in the stands.
"I found out after training on Friday that I would be in the squad, and it was quite a shock when I saw my name.
"I signed the new contract recently and that was all building up to working towards this chance. Now I've had the opportunity it has given me the hunger to want more and been involved with the first-team squad more often."
