Lukasz Fabianski delighted with Swansea City's season

29th June

Lukasz Fabianski proved a triple-award winner during Swansea City's end-of-season function - but one gift really stood out for the Polish keeper.
The 30-year-old stole the show at the Swans' awards night, winning the Players Player of the Season, Best Newcomer of the Season and Away Player of the Season accolades after an impressive first season at the Liberty.
The shotstopper picked up 13 clean sheets during the campaign, with his performances for the Swans helping him become first-choice for his country.
After a memorable first season in SA1, Fabianski has been showered with praise. But one moment particularly stood out for him as he received a strange gift following his star display in the 1-0 win against his former club Arsenal.

Speaking in the club's seasonal review DVD 'Record Breakers: History Makers', Fabianski said: "I had eggs delivered to my doorstep after the Arsenal game at the Emirates because I had played well.
"It was the strangest gift I have ever received in my career. I think it was from a neighbour close to me.
"Usually you get a trophy or a bottle of champagne, but it was a very nice gesture.
"The village I live in is full of very nice people, and they have been very welcoming to me. It's a pleasure to be a part of the village.
"Hopefully I'll get a few more eggs next season!"

A big hit with the Jack Army, Fabianski also opened up on the superb support he's received from Swans supporters following his switch from Arsenal last summer.
He added: "I have to say that right from the very first day the fans have been amazing with me.
"Even though there could have been a question mark against my name as people could think Swansea were taking a risk on me, I could always sense their support.
"Hearing them sing my name gave me a big boost, and it proved that they accepted me and that they had confidence in me.
"I've always gone into training and each game trying to be a Swansea City player that the fans and club can be happy and proud with.
"I left Arsenal because I needed a new challenge in my life and I needed to move forward.
"I don't regret it at all - it's one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Swansea is a club on the up and I'm delighted to be a part of it."
