Massive boost for Tammy

Tammy Abraham feels his two-goal display in Swansea City’s FA Cup rout against Notts County will give him an injection of confidence.

The striker, on loan from Chelsea, bagged a brace as Carlos Carvalhal’s side booked a fifth-round tie with Sheffield Wednesday courtesy of an 8-1 win over the League Two visitors at the Liberty.

The 20-year-old, who was sidelined for a month due to a hip problem sustained in the win at Watford in late December, opened the scoring in the 18th minute after guiding home Luciano Narsingh’s cross, before he turned provider by teeing up Nathan Dyer.

Abraham later scored the Swans’ fourth before the break and signed off by setting up debutant Daniel James for the final goal of the night.

And it was a performance which Abraham admits he will take a lot from.

“I am a player who always believes in myself, so it was nice to get the goals,” he said.

“I had a setback with my injury, but I’m back and I wanted to prove myself by getting on the scoresheet.

“I managed to get two goals and two assists. It’s a massive confidence boost.

“I watched all the games while I was injured – I just couldn’t wait to be back on the pitch.”
