Captain Matt Grimes wants Swansea City to stay positive and get back on track after the international break.

The Swans suffered disappointment in their final game before the brief respite in Championship hostilities when they lost to Stoke.

However, Steve Cooper’s side remain firmly among the early Championship pacesetters and are just a point behind current leaders West Brom.

Their next assignment sees them travel to Oakwell to take on Barnsley, and midfielder Grimes wants Swansea to head to Yorkshire in an upbeat frame of mind.

“We’re still only one point from the top,” he said.

“We need to remain positive even though our home form hasn’t been as good as we’re used to.

“We just need to keep on top of it and working to make it better.

“We will keep building towards the future and try not to dwell on the weekend result for too long.

“We’ve had a couple of disappointing results but we need to keep on with our work and hope that we can pick up some more positive results.

“We will go to Barnsley confident we can get a result.”
