Michu keen to return the love shown by Swans

26th February

Ex Swansea City forward Michu has revealed his desire to one day return the love shown to him by everyone associated with his former club.
The Spaniard, who scored 28 goals in 67 appearances for the Swans following a £2million move from Rayo Vallecano, helped the club lift the Capital One Cup trophy in 2013 during a sensational debut campaign at the Liberty.
The 29-year-old announced his arrival by scoring twice on his debut in an opening-day 5-0 win over QPR in the Barclays Premier League, with cup glory later followed by a ninth-placed finish in the top flight.
International recognition followed, with Michu making his Spain debut in a World Cup qualifier against Belarus.

But his second year in SA1 was hampered by an ankle injury that limited his impact.
The following season Michu joined Napoli on loan, but injury again restricted him to just five games for the Italian side.
Frustrated by the ankle problems which had prevented him from playing at his full potential, Michu and the Swans agreed a mutual termination of his contract in November.
Now continuing his recuperation with fourth-tier Spanish side Langreo, for whom his brother is manager, Michu has fondly reflected on his time in Swansea.
And, as he reveals, his desire to repay the love and support shown by the Swans community is as strong as his will to return to playing at the highest level once more.

"I was really happy in Swansea," said Michu, who was a hugely popular player with the Jack Army.
"It will be difficult to give back all the love the city showed me when I went to the supermarket or when I went for a drink.
"I would love - if I can get back to my best - to wear the shirt again because for me it was probably the best time of my career. And playing for all those people again who supported me and celebrated with me would be amazing.
"I don't have a bad word to say about Swansea. Everyone was great with me - the chairman, manager, the people in Swansea, my team-mates.
"I would love to go back to Swansea to give back all the love they gave me."
