Michu's on the road to recovery
20th January
Michu is edging closer to a Swansea City comeback, with the Spaniard delighted with his progress.
Last season's top scorer is on the road to a full recovery following an ankle operation that has seen him miss the last seven games.
The 27-year-old is expected to be sidelined for another three weeks, but Michu is happy with his rehabilitation as he steps up his recovery.
The Spanish international is eager to return to action but admits he has to be patient as he aims to return at full fitness.
"I am improving a lot," Michu says with a smile. "I have started running and although I'm in a little pain I am happy with my progress.
"I want to be play as soon as possible. I am desperate to play because I am happy when I am on the pitch.
"With this injury, though, you need to be careful and see how the ankle is every day so I don't want to say 'I want to be back for this date or game'.
"If I am going to play I need to be 100 per cent and not just 60 per cent. I want to be fit and I want to play at my highest level, so we will wait until I am fully fit."
While the Swans have endured a tough period on the pitch, Michu is confident his team-mates will soon turn around their form.
Defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday meant the Swans haven't picked up a league win since beating Newcastle last month.
But Michu has full confidence in his fellow team-mates, and he believes results will soon pick up.
He added: "I think we will finish in a good position in the league. We have a good team with lots of quality."
Meanwhile, Pablo Hernandez, Nathan Dyer, Michel Vorm and Jonathan de Guzman are all expected to step up their rehabilitation this week with Jonjo Shelvey set for a scan later in the week on his hamstring injury.
