Michu's swotting up on Euro adventure

12th April

The man known as 'The Student' is already doing his homework on Swansea City's potential Europa League opponents ahead of next season's continental adventure.
Michu, given the nickname by his team-mates as he casually carries a small rucksack to every game containing fans letters and books, has been swotting up on teams the Swans may face in next season's competition.
The 27-year-old, who has scored 21 goals in 38 games since his £2million move from Rayo Vallecano, has cast his eye on matches in the Champions League and Europa League this season, and has been mightily impressed with the quality on show in both competitions.
And he revealed it has left him relishing the thought of mixing it with the best the continent has to offer when the Capital One Cup winners kick off their Euro quest next season.
"The Champions League and Europa League have been very exciting this season, and I can't wait to play in Europe next season," said the Spanish star, who scored one of the goals in the club's cup final win over Bradford at Wembley.
"We could be going to some big stadiums and play against some big teams, but obviously we have to get to the group stages to be featuring regularly in the competition.
"The Europa League is a great competition - you can see from this season's Europa League that it is filled with very exciting matches and top teams.
"It is what we want to be a part of. It will be great for this club to be playing in European competition."
