Mike van der Hoorn was pleased with the performance and point as the Swans signed off the season with a 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers.

Graham Potter’s side had to come from behind at Ewood Park as goals from Courtney Baker-Richardson and Oli McBurnie gave the visitors a 2-1 lead, only for Bradley Dack to equalise in the second half.

The result saw the Swans end the season in tenth place – nine points off the Championship play-off positions.

And van der Hoorn, who once again captained the Swans in place of the injured Leroy Fer, was happy with the way his team-mates ended the campaign.

“We could have won, but it was a difficult game away from home and it was a good performance and result to end the season,” said the 26-year-old, who started all 46 of the Swans Championship games.

“I felt in the first half we really controlled the game and reacted well to going behind.

“Courtney took his goal well and Oli did too, and that put us in a commanding position.

“We went close to getting a third, but in the second half we were under more pressure and they levelled.

“But, in the end, a point was probably a fair result and we can be happy with the way we finished the season.”
