Mike van der Hoorn saluted a successful week for Swansea City after registering back-to-back wins.

Paul Clement’s side earned their first victory of the campaign on Tuesday night after seeing off MK Dons 4-1 in the Carabao Cup.

And they backed that up with a first win of the Premier League season courtesy of a 2-0 triumph over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

And van der Hoorn, who started both games, believes it is a shot in the arm as the Swans look to build on the successive victories.

“Two straight wins means it has been a good week for us,” said the Dutch defender, who made a crucial intervention to prevent Yohan Cabaye from reducing the deficit.

“We knew it was an important game for both teams, so we are very happy to have won. It is a very big win.

“The goal just before half-time was a key moment for us. It came at the perfect time.

“That meant they made changes for the second half and were more attacking, but we defended well as a team.

“It’s our second clean sheet in as many away games in the league, and we are very happy with that.

“We have Newcastle after the international break and we go into that with confidence from these two games.”
