'My confidence is really high'

Daniel James admits he is riding the crest of a wave ahead of Swansea City's clash with Championship leaders Norwich.

The winger has been flying since making his first league start at the Liberty for the Swans against Ipswich Town in October, with his club form leading to a senior international debut for Wales in Albania earlier this week.

James has produced four assists as his blend of pace and quality has caused problems for Championship defences.

And the 21-year-old says the support of his team-mates and manager Graham Potter has been instrumental as he gets set for a return to Swans duty against Norwich on Saturday (3pm).

“I’m just glad to be in the position that I am,” he tells this weekend’s Jack Magazine. “I’m pleased that the gaffer’s had faith in me.

“At the start of the season I didn’t really feel like a member of the first team, but I certainly do now and feel at home.

“The players know my strengths and trust in me, too, which helps so much.

“I’m enjoying football again and my confidence is really high.”

You can read the full interview with Daniel James in this weekend’s Jack Magazine.

He reflects on how far he has come since a difficult loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, his Wales debut and his new life as a dog owner.

Cameron Carter-Vickers lifts the lid on the characters in the Swans dressing room in our team-mates feature, while Joe Rodon reveals his preferences in a quickfire feature.
