New Swansea City third kit revealed

6th September
First team

It’s 50 years since Swansea upgraded its status from a town to a city – a memorable moment celebrated today with the release of the club’s new limited-edition third kit.

The resplendent yellow and blue strip will take a trip down memory lane by sporting the old Swansea Town badge on the shirt and shorts instead of the club’s traditional Swans logo.

The words ‘Oh City Said I’ will also be embedded throughout the stylish Joma fabric which is guaranteed to be a hit with the Jack Army at home and away.

The third kit was released exclusively on the official Swans App at 9am this morning. It is now available to pre-order online HERE and available in the club shop from 10am on Wednesday (September 11). Please note that infant and baby kits will be able to be purchased in-store from Saturday (September 14).

It was on July 3, 1969, when Prince Charles stood on the steps of the Guildhall to announce that the town of Swansea was to become a city.

And the football club would eventually officially change its name from Swansea Town to Swansea City in February 1970.
