Kristoffer Nordfeldt is relishing the prospect of another Emirates FA Cup chance after shining at Wolves on Saturday.

Nordfeldt was one of Swansea City’s top performers in the goalless draw with the Championship leaders.

The Swedish international keeper made a number of good saves to keep Wolves at bay and ensure the Swans are in the hat for tonight’s fourth-round draw.

And Nordfeldt was delighted to play a part having last featured in the Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester United in October.

“I am always happy to play,” he said. “It has been a while since I had the chance and I was happy to help the team.

“It always makes things a bit different having a new manager. Of course Lukasz (Fabianski) has had a fantastic season so far, but I am trying to keep him sharp by performing when I get the chance.”

Nordfeldt faces a battle to dislodge regular No. 1 Fabianski, who has been one of the stars of 2017-18 in SA1.

But the former Heerenveen keeper has never let the Swans down when called upon since arriving in Wales two-and-a-half years ago.

While Fabianski is expected to return to Carlos Carvalhal’s side at Newcastle this weekend, Nordfeldt should get some more game-time in the cup replay against Wolves.

“I hope to play in the replay,” he added. “I haven’t played that many games over the last season or so and every time I do play it’s a chance to prove myself to the new manager, the chairman, the owners and everyone else.

“We wanted to win at Wolves. We didn’t do that but now we will look to win the replay at the Liberty.”
