Oli McBurnie Swansea City PL2 Player of the Month

10th February

Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie has scooped January's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The 20-year-old scored six times last month, including an impressive hat-trick against Newcastle in a 3-1 league victory and three goals in the Checkatrade Trophy.
McBurnie, who joined the Swans from Bradford in July 2015, took the accolade ahead of Brighton goalkeeper Robert Lynch-Sanchez, West Ham forward Domingos Quina, Sunderland defender Joshua Robson and Aston Villa keeper Matija Sarkic.

McBurnie becomes the first Swansea City player to win the award for the under-23s, who sit seven points clear at the top of the Division 2 table.
"It is a nice surprise. I am really proud to have picked up the award," he said. "The team earned some great results in January and I was glad to be part of it.
"It is great to be recognised by the Premier League and it inspires me to keep working hard and help the team get more points this season.
"The wins over Newcastle and Wolves were team efforts. Our aim from now is to lift the title and go as far as we can in the cup competitions in the coming months."
