Oli McBurnie says Swansea City must "put things right" when they welcome Wigan Athletic to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Graham Potter’s side are aiming to end a run of two straight defeats, having kicked off the busy festive schedule with defeats to Hull and Aston Villa.

Both games saw the Swans enjoy periods where they were firmly on top before being made to pay for spurning chances to turn that superiority into goals.

And top scorer McBurnie insists that must change against the Latics, when Paul Cook's men come to SA1.

“We’ve had two poor results that we’re not happy about, so need to go out there on Saturday and put things right,” said the Scotland international.

“It’s happened too much this season where we’ve dominated games, but not come away with the three points. That’s something we need to change.

“We feel like we can beat anybody in this league, especially at home, and Saturday will be no different.”

McBurnie has scored 17 goals in the Championship during the current calendar year, having also netted nine times during his loan spell with Barnsley in the second half of last season.

And the striker would like to end the year in the best way possible – with a goal and three points.

“I go into every game trying to score goals,” he added. “I’ll go into Saturday with that same mentality.

“Goals are what win you matches and anything I can do to help will be a bonus.”
