Swansea City head coach Russell Martin says Olivier Ntcham looks likely to miss Saturday's game at Derby.

Summer signing Ntcham, who signed a three-year deal with the Swans, was forced out of Wednesday’s clash at Fulham after picking up a hamstring injury in the first half.

The injury is not as severe as first thought, with the 25-year-old expected to return to training in time for the South Wales derby.

But he is unlikely to feature at Pride Park.

“It’s pretty much as we thought after the game,” said Martin. “It’s not going to be a long-term one at all.

“He’ll be back for the game after the international break, no problem.

“So, he’ll probably have to miss out this weekend, but we expect him to be training soon after that.”

The head coach also revealed that Michael Obafemi and Ryan Bennett will face fitness tests ahead of the clash with the Rams.

Neither player was included in the squad that faced the Cottagers, but Martin will make a late decision on their availability for the weekend.

“Yeah, it’s whether we deem them ready for tomorrow,” said Martin. “We’ll see that when we train a bit later.

“If they are ready, they’ll be in the squad, if they’re not ready, we’ll be a bit more patient with them.

“But again, if they miss Saturday, I expect them to be fully fit for the next one.”
